Litigation
At Smith Knowles, we approach litigation differently and more effectively than other firms. Here, we become a "partner" with our clients. We know and understand our clients' business, their goals, and their culture. A "cookie cutter" approach to litigation is not pursued here.
We begin with an Early Case Assessment which helps our clients make the best decisions up front. We prepare the case for trial from the beginning, which maximizes favorable settlement outcomes. If the case does not settle, we are set to aggressively take it to trial.
We are sensitive to the cost and distraction of litigation. We pursue litigation in a manner which allows our client to compartmentalize and to continue pursuing more profitable endeavors while we work the case. This also applies to working closely with the client to establish a fee structure that best meets the client's needs.
Smith Knowles is efficient and responsive. We use the latest technology for preparation and use at trial. This allows us to use fewer attorneys and spend less time, while producing a better product. Smith Knowles is not burdened with layers of management. Ideas and decisions need not be presented to committee after committee.
Our litigation attorneys are skilled and experienced in all forums including complex federal/state judge and jury trials, legislative and administrative hearings, appeals, arbitration, and mediation. Areas of focus include Business Litigation, Real Estate/Construction/Zoning Litigation, Employment/Labor Litigation, and Insurance Defense Litigation.
